From the Second Cycle, students aged 10 to 12 begin a more specialised education, with new subjects in humanities, science and technology that broaden their cultural understanding. Create, imagine and transform ideas into works that tell your own storyCreativity, observation, spatial awareness and artistic expression skills are developed, while promoting the appreciation of visual culture and the critical interpretation of image. More than "doing work", the goal is to learn how to think, create and solve problems.The students of the 2nd Cycle value the creative process, experimentation and reflection, connecting art, identity and the world. Each project is a means to communicate, question and gain expressive autonomy.
Investigating the world through curiosity and discoveryStudents are introduced to fundamental concepts in the disciplines of Biology, Physics and Earth Sciences. They participate in scientific research, observation and hands-on experimentation to explore living organisms, physical phenomena and environmental systems.It is from the 2nd cycle that scientific literacy, deep analytical thinking and a sense of responsibility towards the natural world are developed.
Understanding the materials around usThis discipline is worked in an integrated, practical way and aligned with an active learning approach. Collaborative and project-based learning is developed.Students participate in hands-on experiments with materials and construction processes. Through manual projects with wood, paper, iron and plastic, they explore spatial reasoning and lateral thinking, applying technology to everyday situations.This course allows students to develop innovation, precision and teamwork skills.
Developing digital skills for a connected worldDigital literacy is promoted through the responsible use of technological tools and platforms. The curriculum develops skills in information processing, online security, digital communication and content creation, with a strong focus on ethical and effective participation in digital environments.Students develop critical thinking and digital citizenship. Each task allows you to search carefully, collaborate online and create multimedia resources, understanding the impact of technology.
Understanding values through collective reflectionThis interdisciplinary area is essential to support the formation of responsible, informed and active citizens in society. Success is evaluated considering academic performance, personal development and the degree of involvement of students, using continuous assessment, standardized tests and moments of individual reflection. In this cycle, students strengthen their confidence and study habits through the Test Tests and the preparation for the ModA Tests, and can also participate in complementary programs such as STEAM, Sports and emotional well-being initiatives.
The focus is on continuous progress, valuing individual evolution, celebrating achievements and giving students a voice in the choice of projects, themes and forms of presentation, promoting autonomy and active involvement in their own learning path.
During the 2nd Cycle, students take part in engaging lessons and challenging extracurricular activities that develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills, autonomy and resilience.
Through collaborative projects and participation in the Student Association, they strengthen their communication skills, social and emotional development, and sense of civic and ethical responsibility.
Digital skills are reinforced through the iMonte Project, a school initiative that promotes the active use of tablets in lessons to accelerate student learning.
English, as a key global language, is integrated from Early Years and developed throughout every stage of learning, with Cambridge certification.
Students follow the Portuguese National Curriculum, where Portuguese is the priority language, while English accompanies them from an early age. By 2nd Cycle, students have already developed strong skills in both Portuguese and English, and take part in practical activities in both languages.

In Year 6, students continue their artistic journey through ISP Artists Senior, now with a more mature approach focused on critical interpretation of the world and refined visual production.
In Years 5 and 6, ISP Chess Masters provides an international educational tool to enhance logical reasoning, concentration, patience and strategic decision-making.
Through ISP Digital Innovators, students develop digital literacy, programming skills and technological innovation. ISP Changemakers – Sustainable Campus is a programme focused on sustainability and global citizenship, challenging students to design and implement real ecological solutions for the campus and the wider community.
Starting in 2nd Cycle, students begin a journey of self-discovery that helps them identify their interests, talents and areas for development. Through guided sessions, they explore different areas of knowledge, understand how professions are evolving and discover the skills that will be valued in the future.
The Future Pathways programme promotes reflection, curiosity and critical thinking, encouraging each student to better understand their potential and gradually and consciously build the foundations for future academic and professional choices.
