Meet our leadership team

Ana Cristina Tavares is the Principal of Colégio Integrado Monte Maior and is also a member of its Executive Board. Her leadership has played an important role since the school’s foundation, helping to build a strong basis and support the consistent development of its processes.

Through her close involvement in the day-to-day life of the school, she oversees all areas of its operations, ensuring a broad perspective and deep understanding of the school community.

She is also responsible for pedagogical leadership, guiding the school’s educational vision and curriculum development. Her commitment to excellence, combined with a strategic and innovative outlook, continues to support the growth and quality of Monte Maior’s educational project.

Nicole is the School Psychologist and Safeguarding Lead. With a close focus on the wellbeing of the whole school community, our Safeguarding Lead places people, especially students, at the centre of everything she does.

Deeply committed to the emotional wellbeing of every child and young person, she is always available to listen, support and take action. Her ability to work in partnership with the school’s different teams makes her an essential and reassuring presence for students, families and colleagues.

Carlos Pereira is the Head of Sports at Colégio Monte Maior and has been part of the school almost since its foundation. His extensive experience and passion make him a key figure in the development of the school’s sports programmes.

Rute Fernandes is the Head of 1st Cycle at Colégio Monte Maior, supporting students from Year 1 to Year 4. Her leadership ensures a welcoming and stimulating learning environment for young minds.

Rute is committed to building a strong educational foundation through innovative teaching methods and personalised support. Her focus on primary education helps prepare students for future academic success.

Under her guidance, our students develop self-confidence and essential skills.

Paula Carvalho is the Head of Nursery at Colégio Integrado Monte Maior. She manages the daily activities and routines of our youngest learners, prioritising clear, simple teaching methods that support early childhood learning.

With her experience, Paula ensures that children receive consistent care and guidance.

Isa Ribeiro is Head of the 2nd and 3rd Cycles as well as the Secondary School at Colégio Integrado Monte Maior, supporting students through an important stage of their academic and personal development. Her leadership ensures continuity and coherence across the school’s educational approach, promoting a smooth transition between the different stages of learning.

With a strong commitment to pedagogical innovation and academic excellence, she plays an important role in developing the curriculum and implementing educational practices that respond to the challenges of today and the future.

Under her guidance, students are encouraged to develop independence, critical thinking and a sense of responsibility, preparing them to face academic challenges and future opportunities with confidence.

Pragmatic, assertive and highly attuned to immediate needs, Márcio combines his experience as a Geography teacher with responsibility for the school’s health and safety.

His background as a scout reinforces a proactive, action-oriented approach: always alert and ready to respond calmly and effectively to any situation.

With experience working with children up to the age of 11/12, this Visual Arts teacher brings a sensitive and attentive perspective to each student.

Her protective nature and awareness of each child’s needs, combined with an assertive approach when needed, make her a safe and reassuring presence within the Safeguarding Team.

A Geography teacher with a background in scouting, she has a natural ability to mediate situations and build bridges between students, adults and generations.

Her close and genuine relationships with students and colleagues support approaches that often require sensitivity, experience and mutual trust. Attentive to those around her, very little escapes her notice.

Dedicated and deeply focused on the needs of her students, this 1st Cycle teacher brings to the Safeguarding Team the same care and attention that define her daily teaching practice.

Her close relationship with younger children allows her to identify subtle signs and respond with the sensitivity each situation requires.
