More than 35 members of the Monte Maior community took part in the Loures–Odivelas–Loures Half Marathon, in a day marked by sport, team spirit and community. Last Sunday, Colégio Monte Maior took part in the Loures–Odivelas–Loures Half Marathon as a partner of the event, with a team of more than 35 members of our school community. Among the participants were the bravest runners, who took on the 21 km challenge, those who ran the 10 km race, and walkers who completed the 5 km route, in an atmosphere filled with energy, camaraderie and team spirit. With almost 4,000 athletes taking part, the event was also an opportunity to reinforce values that are an important part of the Monte Maior educational experience, such as cooperation, resilience, confidence, well-being and perseverance — essential skills for life that are developed both inside and outside the classroom. Our presence also provided an opportunity to introduce Colégio Monte Maior to participants and families through our stand at the awards area. It was also a special occasion to reconnect with former students and families, with whom we shared memories of important moments, as well as our latest news and upcoming projects. It was a day that once again strengthened the sense of community we strive to build at Monte Maior.
